Updated Mask Policy

Thank you for being a part of the YMCA family and staying with us throughout the pandemic. It is hard to accept that we are still dealing with Covid-19 as well as managing our business model around public health advisories and ever changing circumstances.

The SDYMCA Leadership Team met this week to discuss our response to current circumstances. We decided to refer to the NH state data for Covid-19 decision making, and specifically, the Rockingham County data collected by the Seacoast Public Health Network.  Currently, this data shows we are RED, meaning substantial spread of Covid-19 is occurring. Substantial spread requires masks be used to cut down on spread and keep beds open at the hospital.

As we are a family and youth-serving organization, and children are ineligible for the vaccine, we have decided that as of Monday, August 16, 2021 we are requiring masks in the building in all common areas and while walking around the facility. At this time, we are mask optional while you are exerting yourself exercising (on machines, in group exercise class, playing basketball), but please know that we will continue to monitor the situation and are prepared to return to 100% mask usage as the situation warrants. Masks continue to be required for all non-vaccinated members at all times in the building.

If you have concerns, our door is always open for member feedback.

Thank you for your cooperation.

With thanks and gratitude,

Kimberly Meyer

To Our Valued Members,

We are shifting to a new membership software system on Wednesday July 21st at 6:00AM. This is exciting for members and staff alike! As a member, you will eventually notice streamlined registrations and ability to update and access your membership online. We ask for your patience as we adopt this new system. There are a few additional items to make note of as we transition:

  • As a member, you receive complimentary guest passes. Our new system will be able to track this for us. Teens and adult members receive three passes in a given year while family members receive five. A guest will not be able to attend more than three times in a given year.

  • We ask for 30 days’ notice to make payment changes, hold or terminate a membership.

  • Child Watch (aka Kidzone) is a free service for members only. We have extended our offering to include ages six months – six-years-old. Previously, we accepted ages two – six. We ask that you register on MindBody and limit your reservation to a total of 90 minutes. Parents must stay in the building during this time.

Some of our online documents and registrations will be removed from our website, as they link back to our old system. Please bear with us as we update these documents over time. Please call or stop by the welcome center if you have questions. We look forward to better serving you and the community!
