School Age Child Care

Curriculum

IN PERSON SUCCESS

Throughout the day, students will have designated time to engage in remote learning with their schools. Quiet spaces will be provided for students to meet with their teachers, complete assignments and further their studies. Staff and volunteers will be available to help students with their remote work.

DAILY SCHEDULE

Our programs will run 5 days a week from 8:00AM-5:30PM to support remote learning students and 3 days a week for hybrid learning students. Each day would include: remote learning assistance, program and educational based stations, character development, active outdoor play, health and wellness programming, STEM, 21st Century Skills, leadership development, social emotion learning, outdoor education and arts and crafts.

SAFETY FIRST

Since March, we have had hundreds of children in our care. As we look to the school year, we will keep these practices in place and continue to adapt, including: contactless check in, curbside drop-off and pick-up, health screening, enhanced cleaning, stay home policy and podding up (children stay in their same groups with the same staff members and groups do not interact with each other).

COST TO FAMILIES

Families can register for the 5-day week programs for $200 or the 3-day week programs for $120. We will be offering a discount for families with more than one child. As is the case with all YMCA programs, nobody will be denied participation due to inability to pay; limited financial assistance will be available. Program cost and details are subject to change based on staffing, capacities, and facilities.

PROGRAM DESIGN

The YMCA has been providing child care and summer camp programs to children since the middle of March in a safe, caring and responsible way and we are proud to support families with remote learning and child care this fall. Our new Y Community Care Centers allow children to attend remote school classes supervised by Y staff, so parents can have peace of mind while at work.

PROGRAM LOCATION & REGISTRATION

We plan on offering programs in all SAU communities we traditionally serve, contingent on facilities and sufficient registration. Priority registration will be offered to children of First Responders, then prior participants of our School Age Child Care programs. Wait lists will be maintained and managed once program capacity has been met. Program spots are VERY limited and are subject to change. Registration is open Contact SACCinfo@sdymca.org for more information.
