Fitness Class Descriptions

All Levels Yoga

All Levels Yoga is just as it sounds. During this class, classic yoga poses are practiced with an emphasis on alignment in a slow paced controlled environment. Modifications will be provided for all ability levels. This class is appropriate for beginners and participants who have been practicing yoga for some time.

All Levels Yoga is a great class to loosen up with after a cardio or resistance based class such as HIITStep, Pilates, SHIFT, BODYPUMP, Cycle or RPM. This class is a great way to build your understanding of yoga and can be paired with Pilates, CORE, Flow Fusion, Yoga Flow, and Vinyasa Flow on separate days or back to back.

Barre

This ballet inspired exercise class is designed to sculpt and tone your arms, legs and core. Work your entire body with exercises to stretch & lengthen each muscle group. Classes will incorporate exercises at the barre and on the mat.

Barre is a fantastic class to attend before a cardio based class like Cycle, RPM, or HIITStep, as well as yoga classes like BODYFLOW, Gentle Yoga, and others. Barre is perfect to follow a resistance based class like SHIFT, BODYPUMP, or other strength trainings. It is a great addition to any exercise curriculum and should alternate days with strength and cardio based formats.

Beginner & Senior Cycle

Beginner & Senior Cycle is great for all levels of experience and fitness.  Designed as a RECOVERY and ENDURANCE ride, it is ideal for everyone. Instruction begins by emphasizing each individual’s proper bike set up, leg speed and comfort level of exercise. The concluding goal of every ride is to have fun while improving physical well-being to the beat of music everyone loves.

This class is a great combination with many resistance based classes like Flow Fusion, Cardio Core & More, Senior Strength & Balance, and Cardio Sculpt, as well as other recovery classes like Gentle Yoga, All Levels Yoga, and BODYFLOW.

BODYCOMBAT™

BODYCOMBAT is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness and burn up to 740 calories* in a class. No experience needed. Learn moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu.

BODYCOMBAT is a great class to pair before a Power Yoga or Barre class where you can lengthen your muscles and better develop your balance, as well as a cardio format like Cycle. This class is an important part of your fitness regimen alongside strength based classes like SHIFT, BODYPUMP, and TRX Boot Camp, as well as cardio classes like Cycle, RPM, and HIITStep on alternating days.

BODYFLOW™

BODYFLOW is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

Attending Pilates, Yoga, and Barre classes alongside BODYFLOW will improve your overall appreciation of this skill set and your ability to succeed in your other health goals. BODYFLOW is also a great class to use as a recovery day between Cycle, RPM, BODYPUMP, SHIFT, TONE, Cardio Sculpt, Cardio Core & More, Senior Strength & Balance, and POUND.

BODYPUMP™

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically-backed moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

BODYPUMP is an important part of your fitness curriculum and should be paired with cardio classes like Cycle, RPM, HIITStep, Cardio Sculpt, and Cardio Core & More, as well as core and balance classes like CORE, Flow Fusion, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, POUND, Pilates, and Barre. If you enjoy barbell workouts you should give SHIFT and Y Barbell Club a try.

BODYSTEP™

In a BODYSTEP workout you can expect a mixture of upbeat, rhythmic stepping, with squat and lunge patterns to work the legs. Combine this with movements like burpees, push ups and weight plate exercises, and the result is a fun, uplifting, full-body workout! Modifications are given for all fitness levels.

BODYSTEP is a great cardio and full body workout to pair before a cardio class like Cycle, RPM, and Cardio Core & More, as well as after a resistance based class like Barre, Flow Fusion, CORE, SHIFT, or TRX Boot Camp. BODYSTEP is an uplifting workout to alternate with Zumba, POUND, BODYPUMP, and TONE. If you like BODYSTEP, you may want to give HIITStep a go.

NEW! Cardio Sculpt                                                   

Cardio Sculpt is a 55 minute mix of resistance based sculpting and toning exercises alongside cardio bursts to improve your endurance, flexibility, muscle tone and definition.

Cardio Sculpt is great before or after a yoga class like BODYFLOW as well as cardio based classes like Zumba and Cycling. Cardio Sculpt is an important part your weekly exercise curriculum and should be paired with TONE, Cardio Core & More, or Barre.

Cardio Core & More

Cardio Core & More is a fusion of strength training, cardio, and core work!  This class combines strength building exercises using body weight, free weights, resistance bands, stability balls and gliding discs with cardio intervals on and off the step. Suitable for all fitness levels, ages and abilities.

Cardio Core & More is an important part of your regular fitness routine. Pairing with Cardio Sculpt, TONE, Senior Strength and Balance, Barre, Pilates, and Cycling will give you what you need to lead an active lifestyle.

Chair Yoga

Traditional yoga and Pilates class can be challenging when you have to get up and down off of the floor. With the help of a chair anyone can practice yoga and achieve the benefits of increased circulation, balance, flexibility, mobility and strength. Chair Yoga is recommended for those with chronic conditions that may be causing them joint pain and stiffness as well as limited mobility. Be sure to discuss your fitness goals with your doctor before starting a program.

Chair Yoga is a great class to take on alternating days or alongside classes like Senior Strength & Balance and Zumba Gold.

NEW! CORE™

CORE is a combination of body weight and resistance exercises that target your shoulders, hips and core to improve everything from everyday life to your favorite sports. It's ideal for tightening, toning, improving functional strength, and assisting in injury prevention. CORE is a 30 minute class.

CORE pairs well before Cycling, RPM, Gentle Yoga, Zumba, or any other cardio workout as well as after Cycling, RPM, BODYPUMP™, BODYCOMBAT™, SHIFT, TRX Boot Camp, Zumba or any other strength or cardio workout. It is an important piece of your weekly exercise curriculum alongside Flow Fusion and BODYPUMP on alternating days.

Cycle

This is YOUR ride! Your instructor will take you through hill climbs, valleys, peaks, flat roads and timed sprints to continuously challenge you. Your instructor will customize your bike and your experience to fit your riding style and ability level. You will also have a display monitor to provide immediate feedback and track ongoing improvement.

Cycle is a crucial part to any exercise curriculum. This low impact cardio interval class is central to your cardio endurance, and your ability to maximize your fitness. Alternate Cycle with resistance based classes like BODYPUMP, Y Barbell Club, SHIFT, Cardio Sculpt, and TONE, as well as core and stretching focused classes like CORE, Flow Fusion, POUND, and Yoga.

NEW! Flow Fusion                                                                             

Flow Fusion begins by establishing a strong foundation, proper alignment and being mindful of purpose and intention of the movement. Once the foundation is established, movement patterns will flow at a gentle steady pace. As the mind becomes aware of the movement patterns, flow intensity increases with the use of weights and resistance bands, followed by passive postures and gentle stretching to release stress and bring restorative breath to complete the 55 minute class.

Flow Fusion pairs well before a cycling or yoga class such as Gentle Yoga or RPM as well as after a cycling or HIIT class such as GRIT. It is an important piece of your weekly exercise curriculum alongside CORE and BODYPUMP on alternating days.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is built for the beginner or anyone seeking a softer, nurturing, slow-paced yoga class. Ease yourself into carefully structured movements and stretches to improve flexibility and serenity. Develop an awareness of the breath and leave class feeling relaxed and ready for a balanced life.

Gentle Yoga is a great way to wind down from a cardio or resistance based class such as Pilates, Cardio Core & More, Senior Strength & Balance, Zumba, Zumba Gold, and Beginner & Senior Cycle. This class is a great way to build your yoga practice and can be paired with Pilates, CORE, Flow Fusion, All Levels Yoga, and Yoga Flow, on separate days or back to back.

NEW! HIITStep                                                                       

HIITSTEP is a NEW and innovative HIIT exercise class using only bodyweight and a STEP. In this 45 minute class you will go through a warm up, 30 minutes of pure HIIT to burn calories, build endurance and speed, then take it to the cool down.

HIITStep pairs well after a strength workout like BODYPUMP, a core workout like Barre, Pilates, or CORE, as well as before yoga classes like All Levels Yoga, Gentle Yoga, or Yoga Flow, or Zumba and POUND. You can alternate this cardio based class with weight training on other days such as BODYPUMP or TRX Boot Camp.

NEW! Intro to Weights

Intro to Weights is now a free, drop-in class where you will learn the foundations of weight training. If you are looking to improve your understanding of resistance training and develop your technique of the fundamentals movements, try Intro to Weights.

This class is a great option for developing weight training skills that you can take to more intermediate and advanced classes like BODYPUMP, SHIFT, TRX Boot Camp, and Y Barbell Club. Intro to Weights can also be added into a weekly routine alongside classes like HIITStep, BODYCOMBAT, Cycle, RPM, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, CORE, and Flow Fusion for a well-rounded fitness regimen.

Pilates

The Essential Mat class incorporates the Five Basic Principles of the STOTT PILATES method. Each class is designed to help you develop leaner, longer-looking muscles, establish core strength and stability and heighten mind-body awareness. This class is great for beginners, seniors, injury rehabilitation and anyone looking to focus on improve overall Pilates technique.

Pilates and overall core strength is central to a healthy body. This class is an important part of any fitness routine and is great before Yoga classes and cardio based classes like Cycle, RMP, Zumba, HIITStep, and BODYCOMBAT. Pilates is also great after a strength based class like TONE, BODYPUMP, SHIFT, Y Barbell Club, and Cardio Sculpt. If you are looking to focus more on your core and complementary muscles to help you move better inside and outside of the Y, try CORE, Flow Fusion, and Barre classes as well.

POUND®

POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 400 and 900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music! Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighted drumsticks, called Ripstix®, you'll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by.

POUND is a great way to mix up your fitness routine. Try incorporating POUND with other strength based classes like BODYPUMP, SHIFT, TRX Boot Camp, TONE, and Cardio Sculpt, as well as cardio formats like RPM, Cycle, BODYSTEP, HIITStep, and Zumba. Try alternating POUND with similar classes like CORE and Zumba on different days of the week.

Power Cycle

Power Cycle is a unique class designed for all levels of fitness and to help individuals keep their training goals. Learn how to interpret the rate of energy you expend and the overall work you have done and how it translates into results on and off the bike.

Power Cycle is a fantastic class to take after a resistance based class like BODYPUMP, SHIFT, TRX Boot Camp and others. It is also great to take before a yoga class like All Levels Yoga or Power Yoga. Pair Power Cycle on alternating days with CORE™, Barre, Flow Fusion, POUND or Zumba for a leaner physique or use it as a recovery day from strength workouts like SHIFT, BODYPUMP, and Y Barbell Club. 

Power Yoga

Power yoga is a vinyasa based yoga, practiced in a controlled heated environment. This high energy class will build strength, improve flexibility, and increase stamina. Class will be taught in a heated environment of approximately 80-85 degrees.

Try combining Power Yoga after classes like CORE and Pilates and before gentler yoga classes to significantly improve your yoga practice. Cardio based formats like Cycle, RPM, HIITStep, BODYCOMBAT and BODYSTEP as well as strength based classes like SHIFT, BODYPUMP, Cardio Sculpt, and TRX Boot Camp should be attended on separate days from Power Yoga. Drink plenty of water!

NEW! Project Soul Yoga        

Project Soul Yoga is a series of Power yoga classes focused on promoting awareness and providing support for suicide prevention. Through Karma yoga we can reduce suffering by increasing awareness of depression and mental illness, remove the stigma and increase the value we place on our lives and EVERY LIFE!

Project Soul Yoga is an 8 week series of classes. The teen session will be held at 4:30pm with adults immediately following at 5:30pm. These uplifting, wellness focused classes are offered for FREE to the ENTIRE community. There is no obligation, come to one, come to them all, just come, as you are, there will always be a place for you.

NEW! RPM™                                                                    

RPM is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the resistance. Find your rhythm as your instructor takes you through hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. Accelerate your personal performance and boost your cardio fitness.

RPM is a 50 minute ride that pairs well before CORE™, BODYPUMP™, TONE™, SHIFT and Yoga classes as well as after similar strength training classes. RPM pairs great with SHIFT, BODYPUMP, or other strength training workouts on alternating days.

Senior Strength & Balance

This low impact class is designed for seniors looking to incorporate basic exercise strategies into their activities of daily living. This class is for beginners focusing on basic strength, balance & stability exercises to prevent injury and increase their quality of life. Using a variety of equipment like stability balls, hand weights, resistance bands, and body weight your instructor will teach you how to move well and increase your skills.

Senior Strength & Balance is an important part of your exercise curriculum and can be integrated along with Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, Beginner & Senior Cycle, Cardio Core & More, Zumba Gold, Barre, TONE, BODYSTEP, and many other classes depending on your preferences. 

SHIFT

Specialized High Intensity Functional Training is what you need to take your fitness to the next level. SHIFT incorporates a variety of complex movement patterns to get your heart rate soaring and your skill level climbing. Build strength and power while you learn how to push yourself to new levels and achieve incredible things.

SHIFT is a great class to alternate with cardio based classes like Cycle, RPM, HIITStep, BODYSTEP, and BODYCOMBAT as well as core development focused classes like CORE, Flow Fusion, Barre, Pilates, and Power Yoga. If you like SHIFT you should check out Y Barbell Club, BODYPUMP, and TRX Boot Camp.

NEW! Teen Strength and Conditioning                                            

14-17 year olds. Build athletic strength, explosive power, speed and agility with our strength and conditioning specialists. Athletic conditioning for young athletes accelerates overall performance and prevents overuse injuries at the same time. This class is designed to teach young athletes the foundation and principles to develop and maintain optimal performance in their sport of choice.

TONE™

TONE is a modern training experience with a mix of cardio, resistance and core while incorporating different training concepts to ensure everyone gets the best results from their workouts. This challenging mix of lunges, squats, functional training and resistance band exercises will help you burn calories and take your fitness to the next level. Also a great foundational class, TONE has a wide variety of options accommodating all fitness levels ensuring everyone leaves the workout feeling successful.

TONE is a great addition to your fitness regimen. Alongside Cardio Core & More and Cardio Sculpt on other days of the week you can have a variety of workouts to keep you excited and help you blast through to achieving your goals. Try TONE before a yoga class like Gentle Yoga or a cardio class like Cycle or RPM. If you like TONE, give BODYPUMP, BODYSTEP, and CORE a try.

TRX Boot Camp

TRX Boot Camp is a combination of cardio, strength, core and functional movement patterns to increase muscle strength and endurance. You will use a variety of equipment, including the multi-functional TRX to make the workout fun and challenging each week.

TRX Boot Camp is a great strength based staple in your workout regimen. Alternating this class with cardio based formats like HIITStep, Cycle, RPM, BODYCOMBAT, BODYSTEP, POUND, and Zumba as well as skills based classes like CORE, Power Yoga and Barre form a great total body fitness routine. If you like TRX Boot Camp, give SHIFT and Y Barbell Club a try.

Vinyasa Flow

Breath and dynamic movement are the foundations of this challenging and fun practice, emphasizing strength, core work, and flexibility while encouraging the whole body to become more balanced. Previous yoga experience is recommended, but not required. This class is not heated.

Vinyasa Flow is a great class to help you build variety and balance in your yoga practice. It is a great addition before a cardio based class like Zumba or a more calm yoga class like Gentle Yoga or BODYFLOW. Vinyasa Flow is also a perfect cool down from classes like BODYPUMP, SHIFT, TONE, BODYSTEP, HIITStep, CORE, Cycle, Barre and Flow Fusion. To improve your practice even further, try strength and core classes like BODYPUMP, SHIFT, CORE, Pilates, and Barre.

Enjoy light exercise and conversation on the track in a non- competitive atmosphere. Meet new friends and get moving together!

This walking group pairs well with several of our structured classes such as Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, Beginner & Senior Cycle, Cardio Core & More, Senior Strength & Balance, Barre, TONE, BODYSTEP, and many other classes depending on your preferences.

Yoga Flow

This class will progress through faster-paced, fluid movements building core strength and stability with controlled breath. Designed to develop body awareness, improve muscle tone and flexibility.

It is a great addition before a cardio based class like Zumba or a more calm yoga class like Gentle Yoga or BODYFLOW. Zumba®

Zumba is an aerobic workout based around Latin dance moves and music. Each class incorporates a variety of dance moves from merengue, salsa to reggaeton. It is a great way to burn calories, build relationships and have fun!

Zumba is a great way to shake out the stress of your day and can be combined with several different class formats to build a well-rounded fitness routine. It is recommended to combine Zumba with strength based classes like BODYPUMP, Cardio Sculpt, SHIFT, TONE, and TRX Boot Camp as well as skill based classes like POUND, Yoga, Barre, Pilates, CORE, BODYCOMBAT, and BODYFLOW.

Zumba Gold®

Beginners and active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity and lower-impact environment should try Zumba Gold®. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.

Zumba Gold® is a fantastic part of any well-rounded fitness regimen alongside classes like Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, Beginner & Senior Cycle, Cardio Core & More, Senior Strength & Balance, Barre, TONE, BODYSTEP, and many other classes depending on your preferences.

Zumba Stars

This adaptive version of Zumba is great for beginners and new fitness enthusiasts. This class incorporates a lot of general movement and music from Latin dances like salsa, merengue and the cha cha. If you want to incorporate movement in a fun and energetic environment, this could be the class for you!

Try Zumba Stars alongside classes like Cycle and POUND for a fun, well-rounded fitness routine.
