Leagues and Tournaments

Did you know that basketball was invented by the Y in 1891 at the International YMCA Training School? Dr. James Naismith was given the challenge of creating a game that could be played indoors during the cold winter months. Hanging simple peach baskets and using a soccer ball, Naismith created the game of basketball and wrote the first 13 rules of the game.

Join the Exeter YMCA for one of our fun basketball leagues. Each session includes multiple weeks of play and playoffs. Game results are listed on the website weekly. Registration is completed individually but you can identify your team or captain during registration. If you aren't on a team, register as a free agent and we will form a team if there are enough players. A YMCA jersey is required and can be purchased during registration for $20. League winners receive a championship shirt, will be listed on the Y winner's plaque, and receive a discount on the next league's entry fee.
