School Age Child Care Staff

Stephanie Sturgis

School Age Program Director


Stephanie took on the role as our School Age Child Care Program Director in October of 2017 after working as a Program Coordinator since 2013. She has over 10 years of experience in the childcare field throughout the Seacoast. She is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Psychology with a focus in Child and Adolescent Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education in addition to a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership. Stephanie is an advocate in the childcare field and is passionate about making a positive impact on youth and families. When she’s not working at the YMCA, Stephanie can be found with her husband, Tom, and their four children hiking, kayaking or just relaxing by the fire.

Emily Hewes

Assistant Director


Emily joined us in the fall of 2016 as our Hampton Site Director after 10 years of experience as an Assistant Camp Director and After School Program Site Director with the Meeting Waters YMCA in Vermont. She attended Keene State and the University of Southern Maine majoring in Human Services. With a history in both camp and before and after school programs, she continues to work at YMCA Camp Lincoln during the summer months putting her talents to use for two branches of Southern District YMCA!

Bev Bowles

District Office Manager


Bev began her YMCA career the summer of 1988 as the Summer Camp Office Manager. She enjoyed 10 years in that capacity. In the fall of 1997, Bev started in the full time position of District Office Manager within the School Age Child Care Division now located in Exeter. Bev holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and volunteering for the NHSPCA.

Nicole Lambert

Program Coordinator


Nicole joined our team as a Program Coordinator in October of 2017 after working as an Assistant Youth Recreation Director for the City of Amesbury, Massachusetts. Nicole has over ten years of experience, including over four years of YMCA experience as a Site Director, Group Leader, and Assistant Director with the Southern District YMCA and YMCA Camp Gundalow. She has served as a coach and paraprofessional as well. In her spare time Nicole loves running, eating, and exploring with her husband and dog, G!

Jake Sidney

Program Coordinator


Jake joined on with the Y as our Hampton Site Director in February 2018 and now serves as a Program Coordinator for our school age child care programs. Jake comes from an extensive background of working with youth in different capacities, from working in clinical mental health as a youth mentor and family therapist support to years of working in camp and after-school at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem, NH where he grew up. Jake holds a BS in Neuroscience & Behavior from the University of New Hampshire and in his free time can always be found somewhere near the ocean or hiking up in the whites!
