YMCA Focuses on the Future

December 11, 2017 (Exeter, NH)— Southern District YMCA/Camp Lincoln, Inc. is approaching 92 years of providing positive programs that support a healthy mind, body, and spirit for all. Today, Southern District YMCA is strong and stable, maintaining its mission of meeting the needs of its community.

In its natural growth cycle, the organization has experienced a recent change. “Today, I want to share with you that the YMCA has had a change in leadership," stated Brendan Power, Chief Volunteer Officer, Southern District YMCA/Camp Lincoln. "Rob McGregor’s employment as CEO ended on November 15. On behalf of the entire board of directors, I thank Rob for leading the efforts that have brought the Southern District YMCA to where it is today." Mr. Power went on to acknowledge Rob McGregor's dedication and service of 19 years to the community and the organization.

"We wish him well as he pursues the next chapter in his career" said Mr. Power.

Southern District YMCA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Harold Jordan, former CEO of the Granite YMCA, has accepted the position as the Interim CEO.

Hal Jordan has a distinguished 41-year career in YMCA leadership. Through Hal’s strategic planning and organizational management skills, he merged two troubled YMCAs, saved them from closing, and moved his organization to become one of the most successful YMCAs in New England: Granite YMCA.

He is looking forward to his time with Southern District YMCA, stating that “leadership and organizational excellence are my passions; I am fortunate to have experienced the life-changing energy discovered at a YMCA. Meeting the needs of the local community is my first priority. I’m looking forward to assisting Southern District YMCA with its leadership transition as it continues being a sustainable resource for all!”

In parallel, the YMCA board of directors is conducting a formal selection process for a new CEO who is a passionate advocate for the community and a bold visionary to guide the next phase of growth – an aquatic center at Exeter Area YMCA.

Southern District YMCA has expanded many times over the years. It is a fiscally strong and stable nonprofit organization. This transition will lead to even more positive growth. The staff is energized; the Y is passionately serving community needs.
