Alex Turek


Alex brings 24 years of professional management experience that includes growing YMCA program operations, innovating community services, and managing facility expansions. He is a graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Movement and Study. Most recently, Alex served as the Executive Director of the Andover/North Andover YMCA, doubling the size of their YMCA that includes three indoor swimming pools, managing 15,000+ members, and cultivating strategic relationships to meet community needs. Alex lives in Londonderry, NH, with his wife and two sons.


Rhonda Bernstein

Director of Development

Rhonda has led the development and communications efforts of Southern District YMCA since 2010. At that time, she brought years of non-profit fundraising experience and a successful career in marketing, sales and public relations within the high-tech and software industries. Rhonda holds a BA in International Business and French and has completed graduate studies in Finance. Having traveled throughout Europe and French-speaking Africa, Rhonda finds that the seasons of NH are the perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures with her husband and three children.


Colleen Andreasse

Director of Finance & Human Resources

Colleen rejoined the Southern District YMCA in 2015 after previously serving as the part-time HR Coordinator from 2012-2014. She has a strong Human Resources and Accounting background in both small and large corporations in the Northeast. Colleen holds a BS in Accounting from Stonehill College and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and the SHRM-CP certifications. She has held several volunteer positions within the Exeter school district and community. In her spare time, Colleen enjoys spending time with her family, boating in the Seacoast area, and skiing.


Mark Cadman

Director of Camping

Mark began his YMCA career in 2005 at YMCA Camp Huckins, where over 10 years he held multiple roles including Sports Director, Program Director, Director of Operations and, finally, Assistant Camp Director. In 2015, Mark joined our team as the Director of Camping at YMCA Camp Lincoln. He is excited to have the opportunity to work with cause driven leaders and to positively impact the lives of children. Mark holds a BA in Sociology and Psychology from University of Wolverhampton and has volunteer experience with American Camp Association, Camp America, Kingston Lions Club, and the Kingston Lake Association. Mark loves spending time outdoors with his wife, daughters and dogs.


Tanisha Johnson

Associate Branch Director

Tanisha earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Leadership. She began her career in the non-profit sector in Pennsylvania, working to help families successfully manage a variety of challenges inherent in their daily lives. Tanisha brings more than a decade of experience in coaching and program management; she discovered her passion for empowering others to utilize their talent and skills to meet organizational goals. Tanisha held volunteer positions with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, and she began several community programs and partnerships at which girls learned to channel their inner confidence to be innovators and leaders.

With her recent move to New Hampshire, Tanisha and her family are excited to be a part of the Exeter community. Tanisha’s focus is to continue the YMCA mission: to be a pillar of community service. She is a believer in the power of building relationships, and lives by the adage, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” In her spare time, she enjoys cooking new recipes, reading, and spending quality time with her family!


Stephanie Sturgis

School Age Program Director

Stephanie took on the role as our School Age Child Care Program Director in October of 2017 after working as a Program Coordinator since 2013. She has experience working at Dover Children's Center, Great Bay Kids Company, and M & C Children's Learning Place as well. A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Psychology with a focus in Child and Adolescent Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education, she is the process of obtaining her MBA with a concentration in Organization Leadership. Stephanie is an advocate in the childcare field and is passionate about making a positive impact on youth and families. When she’s not working at the YMCA, Stephanie can be found with her husband, Tom, and their four children hiking, kayaking or just relaxing by the fire.
