YMCA-of-the-USA

YMCA-of-the-USA is a national nonprofit comprised of 2,700+ member Y's. The YMCA began during the Industrial Revolution as ‘Young Men's Christian Association.’ Today, we are "the Y," working for all genders, ages and religions, without barriers based on socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or family definition. Each Y is fiscally independent with its own volunteer board of directors.

SDYMCA

Established in 1926, Southern District YMCA (SDYMCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a charter dues-paying member of YMCA-of-the-USA, and our mission is to provide programs that build a healthy mind, body and spirit for all. That mission is accomplished through YMCA Camp Lincoln, School Age Child Care and Willow Pond Farm, and Exeter Area YMCA.

Southern District YMCA’s newest branch, Exeter Area YMCA, opened in September 2015, following a 2-year fundraising campaign. The Exeter Area YMCA received strong community support with increased community volunteerism on the board and committees, a lengthy donor list, and steadily increasing membership and program participation. This support will ensure sustainability of ongoing operations and maintenance of the Exeter Area YMCA.

AQUATIC CENTER

The Town of Exeter has approved the addition of an indoor aquatic center that will accommodate swim instruction, competitive swim team, recreational swimming, water therapy, and water-exercise classes. Plans for the aquatics complex include a lap pool and a warm-water pool for swim lessons, adult fitness and therapeutic classes that will enhance the health, fitness, safety, recreation and quality of life for all. The construction cost is $4 Million.

Southern District YMCA operates a fiscally responsible organization serving over 15,000 people annually. We maintain low program fees and high standards of quality service, while providing robust financial assistance to those in need. A capital campaign plan is underway to raise $4M to bring the aquatic center to fruition.

Southern District YMCA is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
